The song "After You've Gone" has stood the test of time. For a brief history of this song, we must first know were it came from, how its inspiration was created. The song came from a young, popular lyricist, born in 1879, named Henry Creamer. It was then composed by Tuner Layton,  a highly educated in the art of music my his father, turned it into a hit. However this song starting small and flimsy. Originally sung by Marion Harris, it was only until 1927, when Sophie Tucker, a Russian born American singer popularized it with her deep risqué voice. After Sophie Tucker sang the song, the popularity of After you've gone skyrocketed, leading to other famous singers, such as Eydie Gorme. Since she has passed, there have been more than 54 singers over 95 years of existence, and the song is still going strong.
